Visa validity periodOnce issued an H-1B visa, a specialist may stay and work in the US for a period of six years. The visa is issued for an initial three years with the right to extend it for another three years. If you apply for a change of immigration status, you may extend your visa for a period of one year before you receive a decision. This can be either waiting to get a new H-1B visa or to receive a response to a green card application.Family
Your spouse and any unmarried children under the age of 21 travel with you as dependents on an H-4 visa. They are not eligible to work unless they receive the same visa as yours. Children will be able to attend school freely. Studying in public schools will be free of charge.

The government fee for applying for an H-1B visa via Form I-129 is $320. Besides the application, the employer has to submit a I-129W form and pay the government fee of $1,500, provided that his/her company staff is more than 25 employees. If the company is small and has less than 25 employees, the fee is $750.
The employer can speed up your application consideration up to 15 days by paying an extra fee of $1410.

Applicant may apply to USCIS from 1st April of each year to participate in the selection process. The application is considered during no less than 30 days.
